Yeah Cheeseheads Part Deux

On Friday it was so gorgeous outside that I decided to take the book I am reading, 1984, and meander down to Sir Ben's for the early happy hour. After throwing on a sweatshirt and scrambling for my sunglasses I ran out the down and slammed it behind me, locking myself out of the house and car.

After doing that I decided a glass of wine was still well needed. When I made it down south, Sir Ben's was quite busy, so I went to Lakeview Coffee House instead. Their happy hour runs from 5-8 and they have half priced glasses of wine. Plus, there was some good music on the night in mention.

After that I visit the lovely and talented Miss Pederson in IM. I learned that being temporarily houseless when the weather is nice can be quite wonderful.

The amazing Miss Clifford turned 21 on Sat. I missed out on the power hour in Sconnie, but was able to partake in the festivities at the Brewhouse/Red Star last night.

Today I went for probably the last trip to Spirit for the season with Sheena. She forgot to tell me that she hasn't been on the slopes since she was in high school. The sheer terror in her face as she went down the hill made the trip worth while.

Southwest sun?!

So I thought I would write a quick update from AZ.

Friday night Sheena and I landed in Scottsdale and met Jenny and Meghan at Myst.

Saturday AZ received the largest amount of precipitation it has gotten in 6 yrs. It hadn't rained a drop here in 6 months and it was really cold! The northern part of the state near the Grand Canyon got over two feet of snow, so we decided against making the 10 hr. drive. On Sat. we brought Jenny to the airport to go to Reno. Saturday night we ate a grill, which has touts its 100+ beers on tap. After that we went to the Coyotes vs. Mighty Ducks NHL game. The Ducks won, but there was a good fight in the third period.

Yesterday we went to the Brewers vs. Cubs spring training game. We left when the Cubs were ahead 11 to 4. We ate with Meghan's cousin's family at a Mongolian BBQ. Sunday night we saw an '80s rock cover band. They were good and I was surprised how many of the songs I knew.

Today we spent the day shopping for St. Patty's goodies and resting up.

Free time

Today I had a lot of freetime on my hands to do some things that I have been neglecting; I went to class, I had a nice coffee/convo. with sheena, went to Walgreen's, dropped off my rent check, went to the library to pick up some books on Arizona, got a scone from the European bakery, cleaned our house, cut my finger open on a soup can, and went for a glass of wine with Jenny on the canal to bug Sheena while she was working.

It was really a good day. The sun was actually shining and I feel very refreshed from it.

I have put a temporary hold on my internship search. I just really do not like the thought of having to plan for another road to pave in my life.

If I stay here this summer:

Pros: Find a summer job now
Likely to find an internship
Hang out with my friends
Take art classes here
Have no trouble finding housing

Cons: I do not plan on living in Duluth forever!

If I move to the Twin Cities for the summer:

Pros: Better Job Market overall
More likely that I will stay in that area
Entertainment

Cons: Competition in finding an internship
Not Knowing Anying one
Long Commute
Limited Housing.
