Beautiful

The Dianne Arbus photography exhibit at the Walker was inspiring. Her lifeworks included pictures of transvestites and prostitutes in the 1960s in New York. I recommend catching it.

I have to get ready for work, but with the sun streaming through my window as I type, it is hard to get motivated to stand up.

Crystal's bachelorette party is on Saturday. It is amazing that three of my high school pals are getting married this summer/fall. I haven't been home since May, so it will be okay to go down for the bride-to-be's last hurrah ;)

FRIENDS

We watched the fireworks display from the Stone Arch Bridge with a million other people.

We took the bus downtown and went to the piano bar. We had other places to go, but once we start talking and laughing time flys by.

We are going to the Walker tonight to see the new black and white display.

I am really happy I found folks who love adventures as much as me, who laugh with and put up with me :)

Bliss

Driving to God's country over the St. Croix River, the sun sparkling off the water, the cement ending and the oaks and pines beginning, I was able to breathe for the first time in a week. A week with 100 hours punched on my time card, if time cards still existed.

Floating down the Apple River yesterday was perfect. Sunshine, a new friend, a wonderful roommate and plenty of hard cider. A personal record for longest time to float down, but no need to rush a beautiful day.

I learned a valuable lesson, that it is not a wise idea to skip rocks among large groups of people. I also learned that drunk people don't feel being hit by rocks much anyways.

In the end I was reminded that friends who can joke, who are adventurous, and who care are the most valuable things we can ever have. I miss my Duluth girls, Kristen, Sam and Anne.
